In 1881, The People's Line of Columbus, Georgia contracted with James Rees and Sons of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to build "the finest vessel ever to wet the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee." She was 155 feet in length and 31 feet wide and was the first steel hull steamboat built in the United States. Lithographic reproduction from an original watercolor and gouache painting.
